To assist in formulation of various Village policies or actions concerning community development, various plans and reports are prepared. Below are key Village Plans or Reports, some of a historical nature, that assist or have assisted the Village in establishing policies or taking actions.
BEAUTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES PLAN The Beautification Opportunities Plan, prepared in 1999 with assistance of the Beautification Commission, provides recommendations and identifies opportunities for improving the attractiveness of the Village's Right-Of Ways.
BIKEWAY PLAN The Village of Lincolnwood is in a keystone location to provide continuity to a regional bikeway system between the City of Chicago and the Village of Skokie. This report providesn guidlines for the long-term development of a bikeway system in Lincolnwood tha timproves bicycle circulation within the community as well as establishes connections to larger bikeway systems.
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN The Comprehensive Plan provides the guide for land use decision-making in the community and forms the basis for the Zoning Code. The Village's current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2001. It was amended in 2007 to incorporate the Lincoln Avenue Task Force Report.
LINNCOLN AVENUE CORRIDOR PLAN The Lincoln Avenue Corridor Plan, prepared in 2005 by the citizen appointed Lincoln Avenue Task Force, provides a plan and set of recommendations for public streets and spaces and for development regulations and guidelines for the Lincoln Avenue Corridor. In 2006, this plan was incorporated into the Comprehensive Plan and recommended development regulations incorporated in the 2008 Zoning Code.
LINCOLN AVENUE STREETSCAPE PLAN Approved in July 2009, the Lincoln Avenue Streetscape Plan provides a guide and framework for improving the public right-of-way of Lincoln Avenue. This specific plan for the right-of-way of Lincoln Avenue was recommended in the Lincoln Avenue Corridor Plan. The Lincoln Avenue Streetscape Plan calls for the designation of marked parking lanes and bike lanes in the corridor aw well as improved pedestrian crosswalks and pedestrian amenities, among other recommendations.
NORTHEAST BUSINESS PARK IMPROVEMENT PLAN The Northeast Business Park Improvement Plan, prepared in 2000, provides recommended improvements to the northeast business area of the Village, now called the Lincolnwood Business Park.
NORTHEAST INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TIF PLAN Prepared in 1996 at the time the Village established the North East Industrial District (NEID), Tax Increment Finance District (TIF), this document provides redevelopment goals for this area, now called the Lincolnwood Business Park.
TOUHY-CRAWFORD IMPROVEMENT PLAN Prepared in 1998 with oversight by the Economic Development Commission, this Improvement Plan formed the basis of improvements to the Touhy-Crawford Business District which occurred in 2007-08.
TOUHY-LAWNDALE TIF PLAN Prepared in 1998 at the time the Village established the Touhy-Lawndale Tax Increment Finance District (TIF), this document provides redevelopment goals for this location which at the time housed vacant industrial structures of the Illinois Tool Works company. The site is now redevelopment with a Lowe's home Improvement store.
VISION 2020 REPORT The Vision 2020 Report is a summary of a year-long effort, begun in 1995, involving more than 100 citizens, whose purpose was to help establish a vision for the community in year 2020. The report provides a set of recommendations, many of which have been enacted. |
