Garbage & Recycling

The Village currently has a contract with Groot for all garbage and recycling needs. In addition to garbage and recycling, Groot also picks up yard waste and bulk items (couches, desks, etc.) from March-December. Groot picks up garbage, recycling and yard waste on Monday of every week. If Monday is a holiday, garbage will be picked up the following day. If a resident has a question for Groot or would like to request a new garbage toter or recycling cart, they are encouraged to call Groot at (847) 734-6400 or go to their website at www.groot.com. Missed pickups and other problems must be reported by noon on the Tuesday following the Monday pick-up.

Per Village Code all Groot containers (recycling and garbage) must be returned to their premises storage location by 8:00 a.m. on the day after collection.

If you have a concern with Groot's service, drivers, or their customer service representatives, do not hesitate to call the Public Works Department at (847) 675-0888.

Holiday Schedule

If Monday is a holiday, garbage will be picked up the following day.
