The Mission of the Lincolnwood Fire Department is to provide progressive emergency services that includes effective educational programs, efficient inspection services, safe and prompt response to emergencies in a courteous and professional manner.
GOAL STATEMENTS
Fire Prevention: To provide a quality fire prevention, investigation, inspection and training program consistent with progressive fire protection standards and appropriate local codes. To provide public educational programs designed to reduce the loss of life and property.
Fire Suppression: To provide a fire suppression program that deals with Lincolnwood's fire potential and plan for the facilities, apparatus/equipment , personnel/training necessary to deal with the potential of minimizing loss of life and property by fire.
Emergency Medical Services: To provide basic life support, advanced life support and extrication/rescue for critically injured persons or those with life threatening illnesses. This is accomplished through planning for facilities, apparatus, equipment and the environment.
Hazardous Materials: To provide planning, training and equipment for the prevention, control and safe mitigation of dangerous conditions related to the storage, dispensing, use and handling of materials that are hazardous to life, property and the environment.
Emergency Disaster Planning: To provide for the development and management of an emergency planning process that increases public awareness and knowledge regarding major emergencies, and assure the orderly management of resource deployment at complex emergencies involving floods, fires, hazardous materials releases, tornadoes and other weather related emergencies.
Apparatus and Equipment Maintenance: To provide an apparatus and equipment maintenance, repair and records management program which will ensure efficiency, readiness, dependability, cleanliness and longevity of apparatus and equipment with safety and utilization of current technology being the uppermost considerations.
Training and Education: To provide quality training and educational programs to prepare fire department personnel to meet desirable standards that will effectively provide a high level of proficiency, confidence and safety.
Community Relations: To provide the citizens with information and educational programs concerning the department in a manner that fosters positive rapport, respect and interaction within Lincolnwood.
Health Fitness: To provide a comprehensive health fitness program that promotes the health and efficiency of each firefighter in order to reduce the risk of injury, illness, and/or death.
Member and Organizational Relations: To provide a safe, productive and comfortable work environment encompassing mutual trust, high morale and cooperation.
